The new Polo doesn’t follow the rest. Which is why its set new standards in its class, with impressive active and passive safety systems that work as an integrated system to deliver unsurpassed safety. So much, that it’s been awarded a maximum 5-star rating in rigorous Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP)^  crash rating tests.
 

Preventative active safety

When performance matters, like in challenging driving conditions, the new Polo’s active safety system can help you avoid accidents from happening. If you happen to lose control of the vehicle, its Electronic Differential Lock (EDL) and Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) individually controls wheel spin, while the Electronic Stabilisation Program (ESP) assists steering control. And if you need to stop suddenly, Brake Assist and Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) system help you brake quickly and cleanly, without skidding.

Protective passive safety

If an accident is unavoidable, the new Polo’s passive safety system helps to protect you and your passengers. To lessen the risk of severe head and chest injuries, the standard six airbags (twin front, side and curtain) are deployed to cushion your head and upper body. At the same time, the front passenger seatbelts, equipped with pre-tensioners and belt force limiters, prepare and release you slowly into the airbags. Reducing the risk of upper body injuries.
