Jetta’s 6-speed or 7-speed* Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) gives you both the comfort of a conventional automatic transmission and the dynamic drive of a manual transmission. Controlling the clutch and gearshift electronically, you can enjoy smooth precision gear changes, while getting excellent fuel consumption—and a smile—in the process.

The hardest part of parking is judging distances. So why not give drivers front and rear parking distance sensors to let them know when they’re nearing an obstacle? A silhouette of the Jetta and its surroundings is displayed on the radio display’s Optical Parking System (OPS). When you’re close to an obstacle, the ultrasonic sensors start beeping. But all you need to know is, it helps you avoid bumping into things.

How many times have you been stopped on a hill and accidentally rolled backwards? We have included Hill Start Assist (with DSG), which holds the Jetta in place for 1.5 seconds on any hill with an incline greater than 5 percent when you take your foot off the brake, to give you a smooth start and prevent rolling backwards. Another thoughtful detail that makes a major difference.
